JUNNY's 'blanc' tour is back for an encore.

After successfully completing his first North American tour, which included a sold out date in his hometown Vancouver, Canada, Junny is returning to the stage for an encore of the ‘blanc’ tour. The talented singer-songwriter will kick off his tour in New York before traveling to Chicago, Austin, and San Diego. Tickets are on sale now. But that’s not all: In March, Junny will travel to Europe for his first European tour. Pre-sale tickets for those dates are also on sale now, which you can snag now using the code “blanc”.

Junny’s ability to cut to the feeling in a song is what makes him so compelling as an artist, particularly in a live setting. Songs like “nostalgia” and “Trust” pulsate with romance and vulnerability in live performances. There are unexpectedly beautiful moments, too, like Junny singing “By My Side” acapella after thanking fans for sticking with him all these years. “I couldn’t sing these songs for you,” he told us near the end of the night – and he meant it. Junny’s shows open a space for both him and the audience to feel grateful and connected to one another. You can’t recreate these feelings on a playlist.

“To be able to perform is a special feeling. Witnessing your own fans in the crowd coming to see you perform gives you another level of excitement when writing an album,” Junny told Pop Culturist last year. “I think it’s the biggest part of being an artist next to being in the studio and creating new music.”

Since his debut in 2017 when he first moved to Korea, Junny’s songwriting has cultivated a simmering vulnerability in K-Pop. You’ve likely heard his writing in the music from IU, JAY B, different NCT subunits and EXO members, SUHO, BAEKHYUN, and KAI. Many of the artists Junny chooses to work with display how experimental his music can be: His most recent release “Darling” featuring dress is a dreamy R&B single, but he can also craft a mean pop song like “GET YA” with pH-1 or “COLOR ME” with CHUNG HA. Junny’s ace is that he can dive into any genre, and make each of them his own.

Junny released a perfect first album with ‘blanc’, a seamless body of work that opens gently with “mercury” before switching into power pop with “Oblivious”. The album showed just how much potential Junny has as an artist and what a great ear he has for music. It displayed a newfound fierceness and defiance to fitting into one genre. But Junny has continued to challenge himself since the album’s release. As he said to All K-Pop last year, “I’m still trying to find my own color, trying to make pop music at the same time, so I’m just like a mixture of everything – everything that I like.” Beyond completing the ‘blanc’ tour, Junny’s also hosted Dive Studios’ podcast “Get Real” with BTOB’s Peniel and Ashley Choi, formerly of Ladies’ Code, and dropped his first English language single “Not About You”.

Junny was still processing how much the tour meant to him, though, while promoting “Not About You”. “It made me a totally different person,” he said on a Zoom call before the premiere of the song. The tour allowed him to feel reconnected to songwriting and why he’s an artist. “It was a reassurance for me. It truly opened up my mind and I was reminded again why I started music in the first place,” he told me in our interview. “It was an incredible experience.”

The general sale for ‘blanc’ will start on Thursday, January 19 at 5 pm PST / 8 pm EST. Tickets are available for purchase through www.unboundentertainmentgroup.com/junny and www.modo-live.com.  Fans in Europe and Asia won’t have to wait long to see Junny live either because more dates will be announced before Spring ends!
