eaJ Announces His First North American Tour
Following the best work of his career with the “insomnia” trilogy, eaJ is headlining his first tour.
For the first time, eaJ is going on a solo tour.
Following the success of the “insomnia” trilogy, which includes “laughing in insomnia”, “smiling in insomnia" and “medicated insomnia”, eaJ announced this week he would be hitting the road starting in November. The “In Insomnia” tour will play at intimate venues across North America, with eaJ offering meet and greet tickets to his biggest fans that include a selfie and signed lanyard.
eaJ kicks off the tour on November 5th at August Hall in San Francisco, before moving to Seattle, Dallas, Atlanta and, finally, New York. The singer will give a precursor to the tour when he headlines the “TFW: That Feeling When” festival in Arcadia, California on September 2nd.
The “insomnia” theme is one that eaJ has spent the past year exploring, beginning with the sublime single “sincerely,”. In the music video, eaJ addresses a girl as he paints on a canvas. “Do you think I’m a problem like you should?” he asks, then admits, “I think you should touch me like you know I would/ Cause I’m a problem.” “sincerely,” wouldn’t find its way onto an EP until “medicated insomnia”, but the final shot of eaJ applying gesso to a canvas signified the new direction his music took.
The “insomnia” series features eaJ’s best work thanks to his cathartic lyrics, which reference an ongoing quest to understand himself. “You live in a castle in the sky,” eaJ observes at one point. “Does my baggage ever make it hard to fly?” Stripped of anything that remotely resembles what’s trendy in contemporary pop music, “insomnia” clearly embodies eaJ’s desire to follow his own artistic instincts. eaJ has always possessed one hell of a voice but you’ve probably never heard it as strongly as he sounds on the “laughing in insomnia” opener “Typical Story” or on the bouncy single “LA Stars”.
Fans attending the “In Insomnia '' tour will have the opportunity to hear these new songs live, as well as debut single “Car Crash”, which was the first signal that eaJ would follow his own path.
The last tour eaJ participated in was when he was a member of K-Pop group DAY6. Since then, eaJ has worked hard to chart his own path as a musician. Along with his music, eaJ streams regularly on Twitch, where he maintains a close relationship with his fans, and has worked with DIVE Studios to produce his own Mindset collection. eaJ also hosted the DIVE series “How Did I Get Here (HDIGH)” (a show that single handedly got me through some long-ass pandemic days).
“There have been a lot of people that I’ve hurt, there have been a lot of misunderstandings,” eaJ said in a teaser for his Mindset that reflects his lyrical themes perfectly, “but at the end of the day, I just truly always want to do the right thing.”
